Increase the overall economic value of tourism to the province by doubling the number of tourists on holiday in Enga every five years and maximizing the sustainable growth for the social benefits of Engans.

Even though development of the agrarian economy should be a key foundation of the Enga Provincial growth and development strategy, it cannot be pursued to the exclusion of the tourism sectors, within which further development and diversification could be facilitated over the next 20 years and beyond.

Enga has the natural assets for major ecotourism destination in the country. The province has a series of strong tourist attractions to link its undoubted beauty into a strong brand. The pristine untouched forest areas of Enga, become a major tourist attraction in its own.

Unlocking the true potential of tourism for Enga’s provincial growth and prosperity, the Enga Tourism Bureau Inc and Enga Provincial Government, encompass robust identification, development, and promotion of key tourism products, as well as the creation of essential tourism facilities and infrastructure within the province.

The appropriate lead agency for tourism in the province is the Commerce Culture and Tourism branch. Through this section the Enga Provincial Government is committed to creating and nurturing a conducive environment favorable for eco-tourism business activities.

|“Denrumbium Engae” world’s rare orchid and this is found only in Enga province.The natural design of the flowery parts of this unique orchid appears on the Enga Provincial flag.

| The black and long tailed bird of paradise referred to as “MIOK” in Enga, is the symbol of Enga Province.


Twenty-five years of stable leadership and consistent administrative machinery have resulted in EPG attracting more foreign government and NGO donor agencies to invest in all sectors in the province. ’This has been our strength and a Key strategy for addressing our development agendas.
