Innovative University of Enga holds historic Inaugural Graduation

The Innovative University of Enga (IUE) marked a significant milestone today as it hosted its inaugural graduation ceremony at the main campus in Irelya Village, just outside Wabag Town.

A total of one hundred and sixty-six (166) students graduated with Bachelor’s degrees in various programs offered under the university’s Education,Natural Science and Health faculties. The event was attended by government officials, community leaders, academic staff, and proud families.

University President Professor Brian Davis congratulated the graduates and urged them to be innovative in applying their skills.

The ceremony not only celebrated academic achievement but also represented a broader vision for the development of the province under the leadership of Governor Sir Peter Ipatas.

Following the ceremony, Sir Peter Ipatas acknowledged the contributions of past and present national administrations in supporting the institution’s growth. He expressed gratitude to both the Peter O’Neill and James Marape governments for their roles in transforming the institution from a teachers’ college, established in 2007, into a fully-fledged university—a status officially granted through an Act of Parliament in 2022.

Sir Peter Ipatas noted that the establishment and progress of IUE aligns with his long-term vision to position Enga Province as a national hub for education and health.
